Srđan Ćuković, (born 31 March 1952 in Belgrade) is a Serbian poet and composer. == Early days == Ćuković started very young as songwriter and performer for the Theatre play ‘’The Punks’’,performed by the famous Dadov youth Theatre from Belgrade, directed by Radomir Putnik and managed by Mihailo Tošić. His original music score for the play won his first award on the Youth Theatre festival in Kula, 1970. Ćuković was born to a Serbian father, university professor Dr. Milan Ćuković, and to Branislava Ćuković. His grandfather's surname was Ćuk, but in 1922 the grandfather changed it to Ćuković. The young Ćuković was fond of music from his early days. He was introduced to accordion after injury of his arm in a car accident at the age of eight. Not willing to learn notes, but with excellent haring he made problems for his music teacher who then suggested guitar to his parents. So, he got his first guitar in 1962, in somehow the same time when his father bought him his first single Beatles record. Those were the days when he was beginning to write poetry as well as passionately learn English, mostly in order to be able to sing songs by his favorite idols (The Beatles, Hollies, Bob Dylan, Donovan, Kinks, Rolling Stones, Beach boys and many more to come). He often jokes saying that he learned English by listening to Beatles and radio Luxembourg. As a secondary school student he was introduced to a journalist, chess grandmaster and famous radio DJ of that time; Nikola Karaklajić (RIP), who was also kind of a head hunter and leader to young people who had exceptional musical talents. This talent, very good knowledge of English and a rather impressive collection of records made Ćuković one of the youngest disk jockeys in Belgrade of that time.
